What kind of metal should I choose for my husband’s wedding band?
As a bride the wedding band you present to you new husband is one of the few symbols of your relationship you purchase for your spouse to present to him on your wedding day. Naturally, you want the wedding band to be a true reflection of just how much your relationship means. But with so many options, where do you start? There are several aspects you could consider but I believe the top two considerations when choosing a wedding band are sentimental value and cost. To get started, think about your values. Do you value staying in trend, a timeless look, or investing in a piece to bring greater monitory value to you and your future family? Let's look at the options and decide what's best for you!
Do you value trend and low cost?
Right now titanium and tungsten wedding bands are popular because of their reduced price. These new metals offer a trendy, modern look for men's wedding bands. In the past two years, the design of these bands have become more versatile proving men’s fashion and creativity are gaining increasing importance in todays culture. It really is about choices. Light weight and comfortable for someone who doesn't like to "feel" his ring; Titanium wedding bands can be a plus to clients who aren't use to wearing a piece of jewelry. Titanium and tungsten are corrosion and scratch resistant and have a shiny grayish color.
Do you (or your finacé) value durability?
If so, a tungsten carbide wedding band might be just the one for you. Tungsten carbide bands exhibit considerable strength and durability. By itself tungsten is not unlike titanium or steel, but when combined with carbon it becomes four times harder than titanium, twice as hard as steel and practically unscratchable. But with great strength comes a little extra weight. The tungsten wedding bands are heavier than titanium. Another attractive feature of the tungsten carbide rings is their affordability.
Do you value a financial investment?
If your answer is yes, I suggest the precious metals created by God and nature. Gold and platinum are an investment that will last a lifetime (just like your marriage). A wedding band in white or yellow gold or platinum is a timeless choice and will always retain a higher monitory value than the new, modern metals. To be frank, there is no real trade- in value with other types of metals. Custom designs look stunning in gold and platinum too. This month one of my favorite men's gold wedding band was created from a yellow gold ring past down to a finacé from his father. We melted down the gold and changed the color to create a stunning but simple white gold band. To personalize this ring we laser engraved the financee's finger print inside the band representing their union. It was beautiful!
Whatever you decide upon is best for you as a couple, wear it proudly as it will always be a symbol of your love and commitment to each other.
